The Dangote Petroleum Refinery has approved the return of engineers who were earlier moved to other business units after disciplinary actions linked to operational disruptions at the facility.
In an internal memo to staff, management said the decision followed a detailed review and appeals from stakeholders, leading to what it described as a conditional pardon for the affected personnel.
According to the directive signed by Group Vice President, Oil & Gas, Devakumar Edwin, the engineers will be invited for meetings before being reassigned to resume duties at the refinery. The recall also includes those who did not accept earlier redeployment offers within the group.
The company explained that the earlier redeployment was necessary at the time to protect operations and enforce corporate standards. However, it now believes reintegrating the experienced engineers will support ongoing efforts to improve efficiency and stability at the refinery.
While welcoming the staff back, management stressed that discipline, professionalism and strict adherence to organisational values remain mandatory. It warned that any repeat of misconduct that could affect operations would attract immediate sanctions.
The engineers were initially redeployed in October 2025 as part of measures taken by the group to stabilise refinery activities during a challenging operational period.
