Dangote Refinery Slashes Petrol Prices Nationwide, Lagos Now ₦875/Litre

In a move that will bring relief to millions of Nigerians, the Dangote Petroleum Refinery has announced a nationwide reduction in petrol prices, with pump rates now ranging from ₦875 to ₦905 per litre, depending on location.

According to Channels TV, the new pricing template marks a ₦15 cut per litre across all regions and is already in effect at partner retail stations including MRS, Ardova, Heyden, Optima Energy, Techno Oil, and Hyde Energy.

Here’s a breakdown of the new prices:Lagos: ₦875South-West: ₦885North-West & Central: ₦895North-East and South-South: ₦905Previously, Lagosians paid ₦890 per litre, while prices climbed as high as ₦920 in the North-East and South-South.

In a statement, Anthony Chiejina, Group Chief Branding and Communications Officer of Dangote Group, said the refinery’s decision stems from a commitment to economic stability and easing the pressure on consumers.

“Our quality petrol and diesel are refined for better engine performance and are environmentally friendly,” he noted.“This price adjustment reflects our unwavering commitment to supporting the Nigerian economy and alleviating the burden on consumers.”

The company attributed the new pricing flexibility to a naira-for-crude supply deal, which allows for better cost control and price moderation.

Dangote Petroleum Refinery, located in Lekki with a processing capacity of 650,000 barrels per day, said it will continue to work with key marketers to ensure affordability and availability across Nigeria.
