Enugu Electricity Distribution Plc (EEDC) has launched a new initiative to help customers clear outstanding electricity bills, offering significant discounts for eligible accounts.

The scheme, named the Accelerated Settlement of Arrears Project, targets customers with long-standing debts and encourages them to pay off arrears with reduced charges. According to EEDC, the programme is designed as a graded discount system to support those who owe electricity bills from earlier periods.

Under the plan, customers who settle their debts in a single payment are eligible for a 25% discount, while those who choose to pay in instalments over three months can receive a 20% discount. To qualify, debts must have accumulated before December 31, 2022.

EEDC has advised customers seeking clarification to reach out through official communication channels, noting that specific terms and conditions apply to benefit from the scheme.
