Eko Disco Appoints Rekhiat Momoh as Managing Director

Eko Electricity Distribution Company (Eko Disco) has named Mrs. Rekhiat Momoh as its substantive Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer, confirming her position after serving in an acting capacity for several months.

Momoh first stepped into the leadership role in March 2024 when the company’s board announced her as Acting MD/CEO following the redeployment of her predecessor, Mrs. Tinuade Sanda, to WPG Ltd., the firm’s core investor.

With nearly 30 years in Nigeria’s power sector, Momoh brings extensive experience from her time at the former National Electric Power Authority (NEPA), the Power Holding Company of Nigeria (PHCN), and Eko Disco. Her career cuts across commercial operations, marketing, customer service, and distribution management. She has previously served as General Manager (Commercial), Assistant General Manager (Marketing), and District Manager for the Orile, Mushin, and Apapa business units.

During her tenure in these roles, Eko Disco recorded improvements in operational performance, including a drop in Aggregate Technical, Commercial, and Collection (ATC&C) losses from 32.78% in 2017 to 26.82% in 2019.

Momoh holds an OND in Business Administration and an HND in Marketing from Auchi Polytechnic, as well as an MBA in Marketing from Lagos State University. She is also a Fellow of the National Institute of Marketing of Nigeria (NIMN) and the Nigerian Institute of Management (NIM).

Her confirmation comes shortly after she was named one of Nigeria’s Top 50 Best Performing CEOs at the 2025 Business Times CEO Forum & Awards in Lagos — a recognition for her impact on Eko Disco’s operational results.

Beyond her executive duties, she has contributed to sector capacity development as an adjunct lecturer at the National Power Training Institute of Nigeria (NAPTIN) and has attended various leadership programs within and outside the country.

Eko Disco says the appointment reflects its commitment to strengthening corporate leadership as Nigeria’s electricity sector continues to evolve.
