Genesis Energy Holding, a leading clean energy company in Africa, has partnered with Saudi-based Desert Technologies to bring renewable electricity to over 600 million people across the continent who currently live without reliable power.
The partnership was officially sealed during the 27th Africa Energy Forum and follows an earlier agreement signed in Dubai between Genesis Chairman Akinwole II Omoboriowo and Desert Technologies CEO Khaled Sharbatly.
A joint statement released from Saudi Arabia and the UK outlined plans to jointly develop and finance clean energy projects across various African countries. The collaboration aims to deploy innovative infrastructure and provide sustainable power solutions to underserved communities.
Speaking at the forum, Omoboriowo said the partnership is a major step forward in Genesis Energy’s commitment to improving energy access throughout Africa. Sharbatly added that the alliance would combine Desert Technologies’ advanced energy systems with Genesis’ strong regional presence to help fast-track Africa’s transition to renewable power.
Both companies emphasized that their goal is not only to tackle Africa’s energy crisis but also to contribute to global climate action, building long-term solutions for communities one project at a time.
