India’s IOC Issues Tender for January LNG Delivery

Indian Oil Corporation (IOC) has floated a new tender requesting a liquefied natural gas (LNG) shipment for delivery in January, according to information from two market sources.

The state-owned refiner is seeking a single cargo scheduled to arrive on January 20, with one of the sources indicating that the delivery is expected to be made to the Dahej import terminal, one of India’s busiest LNG hubs.

The tender process, issued earlier this week, is set to close on December 9, after which offers will be evaluated.

IOC, one of India’s largest energy buyers, frequently taps the spot market to complement its long-term LNG supply agreements, especially during periods of higher demand or tighter supply conditions.

Reporting for this update came through industry contacts familiar with the tender details.
