JMG Limited has taken a big step toward cleaner energy by powering its Lagos head office with a 129-kilowatt hybrid solar system, a move the company says trims about N40 million from its annual diesel expenses.

The project, executed by JMG’s solar division, features Longi solar panels, Deye hybrid inverters, and high-capacity lithium-ion batteries. With a monthly output of around 15.5 megawatt-hours, the system now supplies almost 90 percent of the office’s electricity needs.

As a result, the firm is cutting its diesel use by more than 34,000 litres each year while lowering carbon emissions by roughly 71 tonnes.

Hussein Abbas, who leads JMG’s Solar Division, said the initiative shows the company’s commitment to practice what it preaches. “Our head office demonstrates that modern solar systems can reliably power commercial operations while saving costs,” he explained.

The hybrid installation also includes smart monitoring technology and a dual setup of rooftop and carport panels for efficient use of space. JMG described the shift as a key milestone in its long-term drive for sustainability and reduced energy costs.
