Lagos APC Hails Progress in Power Sector Under Tinubu Administration

The Lagos State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has praised the federal government for what it described as remarkable progress in electricity generation and distribution across the country.

In a statement signed by its spokesperson, Mogaji Seye Oladejo, the party said the Bola Tinubu-led government has recorded measurable gains in addressing Nigeria’s long-standing power challenges. While acknowledging that obstacles remain, the APC expressed confidence that the energy sector is now moving in the right direction.

According to the statement, reforms and new partnerships have strengthened the country’s capacity to generate and distribute electricity. The government has added new power plants, refurbished existing facilities, and improved supply to homes, businesses, and industries nationwide.

The party highlighted ongoing work to modernize Nigeria’s transmission and distribution infrastructure, noting that improved network connectivity is gradually extending power access to both rural and urban communities.

Oladejo further explained that private sector involvement, driven by public-private partnerships and innovative financing, has unlocked fresh investments to tackle systemic challenges. He added that integrating renewable energy options such as solar and hydro power into the national grid is diversifying Nigeria’s energy mix and boosting resilience.

Although issues like supply disruptions persist in some areas, the Lagos APC maintained that these recent achievements point to a steady climb toward reliable electricity delivery. The party expressed optimism that Nigeria is positioning itself as a future leader in power generation and distribution within Africa.
