MRS filling stations in Abuja have reduced the retail price of petrol by N25 per litre following a recent reduction in the ex-depot price of the product by Dangote Refinery.

A market check on Monday showed that some MRS outlets in the Federal Capital Territory were selling petrol at N1,370 per litre, down from N1,395.

The new price was observed at MRS stations in Katampe and along the Lugbe Expressway.

The adjustment comes about a week after Dangote Refinery lowered its petrol price at the gantry from N1,350 to N1,325 per litre.

Following the latest changes, petrol prices at filling stations in Abuja and surrounding areas are currently ranging from about N1,370 to N1,450 per litre, depending on the retailer.

MRS is among the major fuel retailers sourcing petrol from Dangote Refinery, and the reduction at its stations could put pressure on other marketers to review their pump prices.

The development may also affect prices at outlets supplied with petrol from the Dangote refinery, including stations operated by the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited.

The latest reduction comes amid increased domestic petrol production as the Dangote refinery continues to supply refined products to the Nigerian market.
