Naira-for-Crude Deal Behind Cheaper Petrol Prices – Dangote

The Dangote Petroleum Refinery has credited the naira-for-crude oil initiative introduced by the Federal Government for the recent reduction in petrol prices, assuring Nigerians of continued affordability and price stability at the pumps.

In a statement on Monday, the company said the local refining strategy has shielded consumers from global crude oil price volatility. “We are immensely grateful to President Bola Tinubu for making this possible through the commendable naira-for-crude initiative,” said Anthony Chiejina, Group Chief Branding and Communications Officer at Dangote Group.

Chiejina emphasized that the move has “enabled us to consistently reduce the price of petroleum products for the benefit of all Nigerians.”Despite global price fluctuations, Dangote Refinery maintained its stance on stable and affordable pricing, reinforcing its role in driving energy security and economic resilience.

“Our approach aligns with the objectives of the Federal Government’s ‘Nigeria First Policy’, which promotes the prioritisation of locally-produced goods and services,” the company said.The statement also reaffirmed Dangote’s commitment to operational excellence, sustainability, and support for the government’s “Renewed Hope Agenda.”

“Dangote Petroleum Refinery remains committed to ensuring that the benefits of our local refining capacity are fully realised and enjoyed by the Nigerian populace,” the company added.
