NESG Urges FG to Maintain 2.2mbpd Oil Output for Economic Stability

The Nigeria Economic Summit Group (NESG) has urged the federal government to sustain crude oil production at 2.2 million barrels per day (bpd) to ensure the viability of the 2025 budget and stabilize the economy.

NESG CEO Dr. Tayo Adulojo emphasized that maintaining this output is crucial for revenue generation, foreign exchange stability, and economic growth.

He noted that the government’s efforts have already increased production from 1.1 million bpd to 2.8 million bpd.

Adulojo also highlighted the need for political stability and security to maintain production levels, while stressing the importance of effective policy coordination between fiscal and monetary authorities.
