The Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPC Ltd.) recorded N7.10 trillion in sundry income in 2025, representing an increase of about 181 per cent from the N2.53 trillion recorded in 2024.
The figure was disclosed in NNPC’s 2025 Annual Financial Report, which showed that the company’s profit after tax rose by about 33 per cent to N7.18 trillion from N5.41 trillion in the previous year.
Despite the increase in profit, NNPC’s total revenue declined by about 23 per cent, falling from N45.08 trillion in 2024 to N34.52 trillion in 2025.
The company’s total other income, however, rose to N8.42 trillion from N3.39 trillion in 2024, with sundry income accounting for about 84 per cent of the amount.
NNPC said the sundry income came from several sources, including Trans-Forcados pipeline income, crude processing fees, payments from joint-venture operators and the reversal of a previously recognised provision linked to the Amenam-Kpono stock overlift claim.
Other income recorded during the year included N678.67 billion from changes in crude stock, N468.64 billion in management fees, N92.90 billion from Road Infrastructure Tax Credit uplift income and N26.46 billion in dividend income.
The company also recorded N1.99 trillion in net other losses, largely resulting from realised and unrealised foreign exchange losses.
The financial results show that NNPC’s revenue from its main operations declined significantly in 2025, while higher supplementary income contributed to the increase in its overall profit.
On production, NNPC reported that crude oil and condensate output reached 565.8 million barrels in 2025, averaging approximately 1.77 million barrels per day.
However, the company’s profit declined in the first half of 2026. NNPC reported N2.28 trillion in profit after tax for the period, down 35.4 per cent from N3.53 trillion recorded in the first half of 2025.
NNPC is also targeting about $60 billion in investments across Nigeria’s oil and gas value chain by 2030. The planned investments cover upstream, midstream and downstream projects, including major gas infrastructure such as the Ajaokuta-Kaduna-Kano pipeline, Escravos-Lagos Pipeline System and Obiafu-Obrikom-Oben pipeline.
