NNPCL Cuts Petrol Price to N1,370 per Litre in Abuja

The Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPCL) has reduced the retail price of petrol at some of its filling stations in Abuja and surrounding areas.

A market check on Wednesday showed that the state-owned oil company was selling Premium Motor Spirit (PMS) at N1,370 per litre, down from N1,395 previously.

The adjustment represents a N25 reduction per litre and was observed at NNPCL outlets in Wuse Zone 6, Zone 4 and Air Junction.

The latest reduction follows a similar move by MRS filling stations, which reduced their petrol price to N1,370 per litre after Dangote Refinery lowered its gantry price.

Dangote Refinery had reduced its petrol ex-depot price by N25, bringing it down to N1,325 per litre.

The reduction by the major domestic refinery has continued to influence retail petrol prices as marketers adjust their pump prices in response to changes in the local supply market.

The latest NNPCL adjustment also comes as international crude oil prices remain elevated. At the time of the report, Brent crude was trading at about $103 per barrel, while West Texas Intermediate stood at around $90 per barrel.

The price movement is being closely watched by motorists and other consumers, given the impact of petrol costs on transportation, logistics and the prices of goods and services.
