The Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPCL) has reduced the cost of petrol at its filling stations in Abuja, reflecting a response to falling global crude oil prices.
On Saturday, pump prices at several NNPCL outlets including those along Kubwa Expressway and in Wuse Zone 4, dropped to ₦910 per litre, compared to the previous price of ₦945. This marks a ₦35 reduction in the cost of Premium Motor Spirit.
The price cut comes shortly after the Dangote Refinery lowered its ex-depot price from ₦880 to ₦840 per litre. Following this development, independent marketers also announced a drop in their rates, selling petrol between ₦930 and ₦940 in Abuja and around ₦890 in Lagos, down from earlier prices of up to ₦975.
These changes are part of a broader market reaction to the decline in international crude oil prices, offering some relief to consumers affected by high fuel costs.
