Yemi Akinyinka, the General Manager of the Oyo State Fire Services, confirmed the cause of the fire, stating, “The fire was caused by the overheating of a solar panel installed in the building, which ignited nearby combustible materials.”

The agency received a distress call at 1:13 a.m. and immediately deployed a team to the scene. Akinyinka added, “The firemen swiftly swung into action and were able to curtail the fire from spreading to nearby buildings and properties.
