The Nigerian Content Development and Monitoring Board (NCDMB) has received strong commendation from the Senate Committee on Local Content for its efforts to deepen local participation in Nigeria’s oil and gas sector.
Senator Ede Dafinone (APC-Delta Central), Vice Chairman of the committee, made the remarks following a two-day oversight visit to the NCDMB headquarters in Yenagoa, Bayelsa State. The committee also toured the Board’s flagship Nigerian Oil and Gas Park Scheme (NOGaPS) located at Emeyal 1 in Ogbia Local Government Area, which is nearly complete and already occupied.
“This is the first oversight visit of the 10th Senate to the NCDMB. We had time with the Executive Secretary and his team to understand what they do and the results we’re seeing for Nigerians. I have to say we are impressed,” Dafinone said.
He praised not only the physical infrastructure but also the comprehensive capacity-building programmes the Board has implemented, stating, “But beyond the physical structures, the NCDMB’s work extends to training and human capacity development programmes that are crucial to the sector and to our national development.”
The visit underscores the Senate Committee’s commitment to supporting initiatives that promote local content and human capital growth within Nigeria’s oil and gas industry.
