Steve Hill, a seasoned gas and energy executive, is leaving Mercuria Energy Group, the company confirmed on Thursday. Hill joined Mercuria in 2024 with the mandate to develop its liquefied natural gas (LNG) business, a sector that has seen rapid global growth in recent years.
During his time at Mercuria, Hill was instrumental in advancing the trading house’s strategy to increase its presence in the international LNG market. Prior to joining Mercuria, he held a senior role at Shell Plc, where he oversaw the company’s extensive LNG, gas, and power marketing and trading operations.
Hill’s departure comes as Mercuria continues to adapt its strategy amid evolving energy markets and rising demand for LNG solutions worldwide. The company has not yet announced a successor to lead its LNG initiatives.
