West Africa Set to Hold Its First Refined Fuel Market Conference

The first-ever West African Refined Fuel Conference will take place from July 22 to 23, 2025, at the Transcorp Hilton Hotel in Abuja. The event is being organised by the Nigerian Midstream and Downstream Petroleum Regulatory Authority (NMDPRA) in partnership with S&P Global Commodity Insights.

The conference aims to create a stronger and more united fuel market across West Africa. Key issues on the agenda include setting fair and consistent fuel prices, improving transparency through data sharing, and encouraging collaboration between countries in the region.

Participants will include government agencies, oil and gas companies, fuel marketers, financial institutions, depot operators, and other key players in the energy space. They’ll explore ways to increase local refining and develop better infrastructure to support the region’s fuel supply.

Another major focus is aligning national fuel policies across West African countries to help build a more stable and connected market.

The event is expected to mark an important step toward long-term energy cooperation and market growth in the region.
