Heirs Energies Boss to Showcase African Energy Leadership at Namibia Oil & Gas Conference

As Namibia positions itself as Africa’s next big oil hotspot, Heirs Energies CEO Osa Igiehon will be among the headline speakers at the Namibia Oil & Gas Conference 2025, sharing strategies for building world-class indigenous energy companies.

On August 14, Igiehon will lead a session titled “The Making of an African Independent”, drawing on Heirs Energies’ transformation of Nigeria’s OML 17 into one of West Africa’s top-performing locally operated assets.

The session kicks off with an exclusive conversation between Igiehon and Dr. Clemens von Doderer of the Hanns Seidel Foundation Namibia, followed by a panel featuring industry leaders from Azule Energy, Rhino Resources Namibia, and the Gas Exporting Countries Forum.

Discussions will focus on how African independents can compete with global oil majors, develop sustainable operations, and harness local expertise as a competitive advantage.“We’re proving that African firms can lead the global energy conversation,” Igiehon said, stressing that a blend of African innovation and top-tier execution can deliver exceptional results.

Heirs Energies operates on the Africapitalism philosophy championed by its Group Chairman, Tony O. Elumelu, which prioritises private-sector leadership in driving Africa’s growth.

With Namibia’s Orange Basin attracting multi-billion-dollar investment, Igiehon believes African-owned companies have a prime opportunity to scale quickly and take leadership in the sector. As one of the continent’s leading indigenous energy players, Heirs Energies continues to combine innovation, environmental responsibility, and community impact in its mission to meet Africa’s energy needs while aligning with global sustainability goals.
