DANGOTE: Filling Stations Reduce Price by N45

Fuel prices have dropped at several filling stations in Abuja following a reduction in Dangote Refinery’s gantry price.

A survey by DAILY POST found that MRS now sells petrol at N739 per litre, down from N910, AA Rano has reduced its price to N840 per litre, and Bovas sells at N865 per litre. This marks a price drop of between N45 and N171 per litre.

However, some stations, including Ranoil and Empire Energy, are yet to adjust their prices, continuing to sell fuel at N910–N912 per litre. Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPC) outlets along Kubwa Expressway were reportedly out of fuel at the time of the survey.

Ex-depot prices currently stand at N703 per litre for Dangote Refinery and Pinnacle, and N708 for Bovas.

The price cuts follow comments from Aliko Dangote, President of Dangote Refinery, who stated that petrol should not sell for more than N740 per litre, sparking competition in the downstream oil sector. Last week, Dangote Refinery reduced its gantry petrol price from N828 to N699 per litre.
