TotalEnergies Chief Executive Officer Patrick Pouyanne has said global energy disruptions are creating new opportunities for major oil and gas companies.
Pouyanne made the remarks at the Energy Intelligence Forum in London, where he highlighted the advantage of operating across different segments and regions of the energy industry.
According to him, large integrated energy companies with international portfolios are well placed to navigate periods of geopolitical uncertainty and changes in global supply.
He cited the ongoing conflict in the Middle East as an example of how disruption can reshape energy markets and create opportunities for companies capable of responding quickly to changing conditions.
TotalEnergies, Shell and BP have recorded stronger earnings this year, benefiting from increased trading activity linked to the disruption in energy supplies caused by the Iran conflict.
TotalEnergies has also benefited from higher oil prices and stronger refining margins, which have supported its financial performance.
Pouyanne’s comments come as major energy companies continue to adjust their strategies in response to geopolitical risks, supply disruptions and changing conditions in the global oil and gas market.
