The Nigerian Content Development and Monitoring Board (NCDMB), in collaboration with Renaissance Africa Energy, Beam Energy, and Hamaston Limited, has started a specialised training programme for six Nigerian graduates focused on rural electrification.
The programme, part of the Community Electrification Interdependent Project, began Tuesday at Hamaston Limited’s headquarters on Ogbatai Street, Woji, Port Harcourt, Rivers State. Officials from all partner organisations attended the launch ceremony.
Speaking on behalf of NCDMB’s Executive Secretary, Felix Ogbe, the Board’s Manager of Human Capacity Development, Mrs. Tarilate Biribena, described the initiative as a key component of the Board’s Project-Based Human Capital Development framework. The programme is designed to address skill gaps and enhance local technical expertise in Nigeria’s oil and gas sector.
Ogbe highlighted that the training aims to develop “confident, competent, and industry-ready professionals,” supporting the Board’s 10-Year Strategic Roadmap, which prioritises technical capacity development. He urged trainees to demonstrate focus, discipline, and resilience, emphasizing that the knowledge and skills acquired should contribute to value creation and industry excellence.
He also noted that the programme serves as a platform to nurture future innovators, industrialists, and change-makers capable of bridging Nigeria’s local skills gap.
Representatives from Beam Energy and Renaissance Africa Energy reiterated their commitment to the initiative, assuring continuous support and encouraging trainees to make the most of the opportunity by contributing meaningfully to the country’s development.
