Nigeria’s top energy players, led by the Ministry of Petroleum Resources and the Nigerian Gas Association (NGA), are set to present the country’s vast gas potential at the World Gas Conference (WGC) 2025 in Beijing, China, from May 19 to 23.

The delegation, headed by Minister of State for Petroleum Resources (Gas), Ekperikpe Ekpo, will include key figures from NNPC Ltd, Nigerian Midstream and Downstream Petroleum Regulatory Authority (NMDPRA), Nigerian Content Development and Monitoring Board (NCDMB), and the Decade of Gas (DoG) Secretariat.

“This conference provides a vital platform to showcase Nigeria’s vast gas potential, deepen international partnerships, and attract critical investments,” said Ekpo.

“We remain committed to positioning Nigeria for gas evolution in Africa and beyond.”Major energy companies such as NLNG, Shell Nigeria, Aiteo, First E&P, Aradel, Oando, and others will support the NGA-led delegation.

These firms will participate in the Nigerian Pavilion, a dedicated exhibition space designed to promote investment opportunities and policy reforms in Nigeria’s gas sector.

Akachukwu Nwokedi, NGA President, highlighted the strategic importance of the event:> “WGC 2025 is more than an event; it’s a statement of Africa’s energy renaissance. Nigeria is not just open for gas investment — we are leading the charge for Africa’s energy transformation.”

The conference, themed “Energising a Sustainable Future,” will feature over 30,000 participants, 600 companies, and 400 expert speakers from around the world. It is considered one of the most influential platforms in the global gas industry.

The Nigerian delegation aims to use this opportunity to attract global investors, build strategic alliances, and solidify Nigeria’s position in the global energy transition.

Nwokedi added, “The Nigerian Pavilion is more than an exhibition space — it’s a bold statement that Nigeria is ready to drive global energy transformation.”
