The Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPCL) has set an ambitious target to raise crude oil production to 3 million barrels per day by 2030 and increase gas output to 12 billion cubic feet daily.
The company’s Group Chief Executive Officer, Bayo Ojulari, outlined plans to achieve these goals through strategic investments in Nigeria’s energy infrastructure. Key projects include the Ajaokuta-Kaduna-Kano (AKK) pipeline and the Obiafu-Obrikom-Oben (OB3) pipeline, which are expected to enhance gas transportation and strengthen national energy security.
Ojulari also noted that NNPCL is reviewing the technical and commercial viability of its refineries and pursuing a $60 billion investment pipeline to expand overall oil and gas output. These initiatives are part of a broader strategy to boost domestic energy capacity and position Nigeria as a competitive player in the global energy market.
The CEO emphasized that achieving the 2030 production target will require partnerships, operational efficiency, and modernized infrastructure, signaling a new phase in NNPCL’s long-term development plans.
