Energy company SolarCity Gas has announced plans to establish a nationwide network of high-speed charging stations for electric vehicles (EVs) as the country prepares for a surge in EV adoption.
The company’s Chief Executive Officer, Okeowo Olasubomi, revealed the initiative during the recent GITEX technology fair. He disclosed that the first batch of chargers will go live in November 2025, adding that the project will support Nigeria’s transition to cleaner mobility.
Operating internationally as AllTravell Energies LLC, SolarCity Gas has already secured partnerships with top petrol stations and key urban locations to host the chargers. According to Olasubomi, the rollout is aimed at addressing the urgent need for modern charging infrastructure.
“Electric vehicles are entering Nigeria at an increasing pace, and the right facilities must be in place to sustain them,” he said.
He also emphasised that only superfast charging technology will be deployed to ensure efficiency for drivers. “If it’s not fast, we won’t install it,” Olasubomi noted, urging interested EV owners to check the company’s website for details on available charger models.
The deployment is expected to boost confidence in EV ownership across Nigeria and position the company as a front-runner in the country’s clean energy and transport transition.
