Nigeria Energy Sector Fund Revenue Rises to N444.58m

The Nigeria Energy Sector Fund recorded a 30.89 per cent increase in revenue to N444.58 million in the financial year ended March 31, 2025, supported by gains from equity trading, fixed-income investments and dividend earnings.

The fund, managed by SCM Capital Asset Management Limited, disclosed the performance in its audited financial statements filed with the Nigerian Exchange.

Revenue increased from N339.66 million in the preceding financial year, reflecting stronger earnings from its investment portfolio.

Trading income remained the fund’s largest revenue source, rising to N274.28 million from N213.45 million recorded in the previous year.

Interest income from call placements, treasury bills and bonds contributed N144.57 million, providing additional returns from fixed-income investments.

The fund also earned N25.73 million in dividend income from companies in its equity portfolio, compared with N14.61 million in the previous financial year.

The increase in dividend earnings points to higher distributions from the companies in which the fund invested.

According to the financial report, the fund’s performance benefited from its exposure to oil and gas stocks, improved yields on fixed-income securities and measures to control operating costs.

The results highlight the contribution of both equity investments and interest-bearing assets to the fund’s earnings during the reporting period.
